With Earth Day coming this week, I wanted to talk a bit about our relationship with our planet. How would you describe your personal relationship with our beautiful Earth? What does our planet provide for you? Since relationships are a two-way street, what do you do for our Earth? Do you take more than you give? If yes, is that a healthy relationship?
If you’ve never considered these questions, in honor of Earth Day, I ask that you reflect on them this week. Please remember this is an excellent practice in self-love and kindness. If you are honest with yourself and you realize maybe you’ve been living a little selfishly towards are planet, don’t judge yourself harshly. Just get curious and start to investigate why.
About seven years ago, I started wakening to the idea of less is more. As many of us have experienced, once we open our hearts to something, new possibilities and pathways start to present themselves. My journey started with minimizing what I really needed to live with, going fully plant-based, and becoming much more aware of the amount of waste I was contributing to landfills and waterways. I realized my relationship with Mother Earth was not where I wanted it to be.
By no means am I a poster child for sustainability, but I am living a more conscious lifestyle that has helped reduce my footprint on our beautiful planet and her people. It has strengthened my connection with our planet and people in ways I wasn’t expecting. A gift that makes my choices completely worth the extra effort.
I thought I would share a few of my Go Cleaner Tips in case you feel a desire to strengthen your relationship with our planet.
